Have You Ever....

Have you ever seen so much mud in June???? You know it has been raining forever when Amber's paddocks are muddy! She has great drainage, so they usually stay fairly dry.
Have you ever seen the horses having to wear their blankets in June????? I do remember--back in the olden days!!!-- during the fair in July, we sometimes had to blanket the horses at night. It used to get pretty nippy over in "camperville" as well!

It has not rained once today--YEAH!!!!!--and Amber and I got to go for a nice trail ride with Martha this morning. We went up into the Wilkeson watershed area, and it is just beautiful! There is bear poop on the trails, and we share them (the trails!) with deer and elk herds. Martha is the greatest trailblazer ever, and she turns game trails into horse trails too. She even has her own secret way of marking where the trail starts, and which way to go once you are deep in the woods.
Have a happy Sunday!

Ugh, I hear you! The mud in our pastures was dried up and now it's all wet again. I had my horse's rain sheet on Friday night so he'd be dry and clean for the farrier on Saturday.
I like your turnout shed. We just redid my gelding's.
ooooh, bear poop on the trail. That scars me!! I am terrified of running into a bear on the trail! I am afraid my horse will spook and I'll fall off and be bear dinner. ;)

In over 20 years of riding, I have only ran into a bear once, and that was enough! The horses are good at getting you out of there fast...just hold on for dear life!
It is raining again here today:(
