Fathers Day

For Fathers day, Kevin and one of his friends--who also happens to be a dad!--decided that they wanted to go fishing with their families. Awwww...how sweet( on Mother's day, I just wanted to go riding :) When we first got to the lake, it was fairly overcast--and really windy!--but after about an hour of freezing to death, the sun came out in full force. Nobody caught any fish, except for Katie and Kevin. They caught a total of three different species of fish, all of which were about three inches long! This is a picture of Katie and her pumpkin fish. I have never heard of a pumpkin fish before, but Cuckoo--the affectionate nickname of Kev's buddy!!--called it a pumpkin fish, so a pumpkin fish it is. The fish is really small, so you will most likely have to click on the picture to make it bigger. Here's daddy out on the edge of the dock. Cuckoo and I always give poor Kev a hard time, because he is the only Norwegian that we know, who does not like fish, and also happens to get seasick! Quite a rough-looking bunch of kids, and this is only half of them! Oh wait. I see Katie smiling.
Did I mention that we did not bring swimsuits? This was supposed to be a "fishing" trip, but the kids all ended up in the water anyway! Here is Eric and one of the other kids playing on an old log that they found near the shore.
Katie had decided that she was wet enough, and in true Katie fashion, came simpering up to the shore.
So, even though nobody really caught any fish, we all had a good time!

What a great Fathers Day! I'm glad the weather cooperated!! We love to go Fishin! My kids always end up in the water!! Camping and fishing you can't beat it. I am so thankful we live where we don't have to camp in a campground!
