Photo Meme...

Well, Christmas is officially over! Now if I could just talk Mother Nature into warming up a bit so the snow could melt....
How was every one's Christmas??? (Good, I hope!!!)
Eric said that it was the worst Christmas he has ever had because his daddy wasn't there. (I had a little talk with him about being thankful that his daddy was alive, and that his daddy wasn't away at war, but I don't think his nine year old mind quite grasped what I was saying)
Moving right along...Natarojo (not her real name!), over at Just Horsin' Around, tagged me for for a photo meme before Christmas, and I figured that now was a good time to get it done.
The rules are:
1) Go to your picture folder, or wherever you store your photos on your computer
2) Go to the sixth folder and pick the sixth picture
3) Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes along with the picture
4) Tag five friends to do the same thing, and leave a message on their blog that they have been tagged
Here is my picture....Ah yes...memories of a warmer day....This is a picture of Katie taking a lesson on Elmer back in July. If I remember correctly, it was about 80 degrees out, and Eric and I were sweating to death while watching Katie get to ride. Speaking of riding, I have not been able to ride at all during the past two weeks, because of the snow and because I have been too busy. After being stuck at home with the kidlets for three weeks, I really need a ride too! LOL!!!So...I will not officially tag anyone, but if you read this and want to play along, then tag, your it!!

Oh I got tagged with this one too. Yikes I need to do that. I love this picture! What a great little Pony! I would ride more during these cold months if I had that arena! I hope you had a great Christmas!

Awww...sweet girl!

Looks like she's doing some balancing exercises! Huh! I'm gonna need to do some of those when i can ride again...

Doesn't that summer heat sound good right about now?

You sound good today! I'm glad!

Ya know, I am worried about Lisa over at Laughing Orca Ranch...

Do you email with her? Is she ok?

Must have had an accident of some kind...

Steph-
I just left you a message on your blog about Lisa. :)

Gail-
Yes, they train old ladies too...lol!!! Old lady??? You are not an old lady!! :0

TW-
I know...a covered arena would be nice right about now, although they are usually like refrigerators in the winter (at least around here!).

I called my mom in Seattle on Christmas morning and heard about the craziness there; how the Snowtastrophe 2008 has kept families apart this Christmas.

Christmas Eve dinner, no one showed up at my mom's. They just couldn't drive in it. Christmas day was still up in the air - would they make it from Normandy Park to West Seattle? I hope they did!

I'm jealous cuz it's just -.5 C outside but no snow. I'd really like some of the white stuff please!

p.s. I like how your daughter is demonstrating exactly where the stirrup should be on the ball of your foot. We should all be in the habit of that, I hope!

Awh, very, very sweet! If you lived in Texas you wouldn't have to worry about the weather so much! Just kidding, there are many, many covered arenas here for the very same reason. Hope you are well and your Christmas was fab!

Love you!

Ahhh...the good ole days of warm weather. *sigh*

I spent a quiet, peaceful couple of days on my own with Bear & Bunny. Perfection, from my point of view. No dysfunctional family dramas.

Merry Christmas, Melanie!

Merry Christmas to you too Melanie!! Aren't you just so glad that it's over?? I sound so bah-humbug but every year I'm just happy that it's done. And yes, I totally agree with you on this snow!! Good grief - enough already!! We have about 2 ft and it's finally getting slushy and melting. I can't wait for it to just go away and start raining...did I just say that?? Me? wishing it would rain? You betcha - this snow is pretty and all, but what a major pain it has been. We Northwesters just don't know how to handle this stuff!! :)
Congratulations on finishing your finals!!! I'm sure you did great!!

Horray for RAIN!! Love the pic, ah to wear a tank top again!
Glad you and the kidlets had a good day. Kiss that Hubby of yours for all that he did, he must be exhausted! Now I demand you go for ride, you need it!!

What a cute picture. Believe it or not I can remember doing this sort of riding exercise. Don't think I could do it now, nor would I want to.
Warmer temps and less snow would be nice. But then again temps in the 80's are not great either. I want to live where it's in the 60's all year long.

Elmer has to be the most adorable pony ever!! I love to see good little ponies giving a little kid a riding lesson. It melts my heart! So sweet. Katie is too cute up there!!

And I so understand what you say about snow. I grew up in a lot of it and I don't miss it one bit. Today I was actually complaining because it was 77 degrees and super humid. I hate the humidity. I got to work two horses today, Ozzie and my yearling. It was fun. So, if you want to get away, you can come down here and enjoy some soggy southern weather!!

Adorable pony and sweet daughter!
I will take you up on the Photo meme!
Be careful riding in the snow don't want you to have the same as Lisa, poor dear!

Um, it's 75 here. Please don't kick me. LOL

I'm a wimp about cold. Two winters in Chicago kicked me back south.

Did you know it can be too cold to snow? Yesh.

I'm checking my 6th. If it's not me making a face at my kids, up it goes.

What a cute photo. Unfortunately, I lost all my photos on my computere and I haven't scanned in old ones yet. That could be a great project in my free time. haha.

What a fun meme! That is a very cute pony and a cute, happy little girl on him! It's funny how it's hard to imagine ever sweating in the heat again when you're snowed in huh? lol
It's in the high 50's here, drizzly too. It was even too warm on Xmas to have a fire! wah. I know, you probably want to slap me now, lol.
Sorry Eric had a bad Xmas, but it sounds like he really knows the true meaning of Xmas and that's being with family, so good for him, but I hope you can all be together next Xmas. Where was he? Did he have to work- I think I must have missed that.

Denise-LOL!!! Yes, Kevin has been working for two weeks straight, and I have been complaining the whole time. He had to work on Christmas eve, and on Christmas.

I LOVE the picture Mel and glad you played along! My fingers are crossed for warmer weather, this blasted snow is starting to melt. I need to RIDE! But I need to get rid of this nasty cold first....

Hi Melanie,

Such a cute photo. I love it!
Makes me even a little sad, knowing I can't ride for a ong time :(

Sorry about your crazy Christmas and that hubby had to work. Poor kids and you, too.
Did you take good care of yourself anyway...drink a few glasses of buttered rum or spiked egg nog?

My hubby had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but since he's on the 2pm-10pm shift, we did get to have him here for a few hours in the morning.....of course, with all the wonderfully generous and thoughtful gifts he showered me with, it surely made no difference to me...hmpfh!
