For Stephanie and Lisa...

Recently, two of my blogging buddies have suffered great losses; one the loss of a beautiful friend, and one the loss of a kindred spirit.

There are never words to express the emptiness or void that is left behind after losing someone or something that is close to you, and often the best way to communicate your sorrow and sympathy is through a hug, a subtle gesture, a home-cooked meal, or an offer to watch your kidlets for you.
However, because this is blogland, and because I cannot sit down with Stephanie or Lisa and share in their heartache, I will do the next best thing and let them know that I care. Just know that I am terribly sorry for your losses, and that I have been thinking about both of you.

Sorry for the losses. It is never easy.

I've not been up for visiting blogs and leaving comments, but my name popped up on my blog reader and I had to stop by. I am touched deeply that you care so much for Stephanie and I and what has happened to the two of us.
It has been very difficult for me to deal with this loss. He wasn't even my own horse, but he let me into his life and his heart and I will never be the same for it. And I am grateful, although deeply sad, too.
Anytime I leave the house and see a bay horse in a pasture as I drive by, I can't help but do a second look to be sure it's not Rojo. I want it to be him....
I sure do miss that handsome, gentle horse.

Thank you for caring Melanie. It means more to me than I can express.

I feel so bad for what they are both going through right now. I am so sorry for their losses and they are both in my thoughts!

What a thoughtful post, Mel! Tough times for some people out there. I'm sure your acknowledgment helped them feel cared for and supported!

Melanie -

Thank you so much for your kind post. I know it seems like you can't do much to help but that really lifted me up this morning. I am trying to muster the strength to do quite a bit of speaking at the service today - and not upset everyone in the process. I have been reading posts but sometime I just feel like I have nothing important to say - which is why I haven't been posting either...

So I know - this too shall pass, but it sure is an awfully big bump in my road.

Thank you again for the post my friend.

You are so sweet!! They both did suffer tragic losses. This post was a very kind thing to do for them. You are such a great blog friend. That sounds really impersonal..."blog friend". Which I feel like I "know" you. We do all share so much with each other and it's so nice to have people to turn to. This wonderful land of blogging!! This was a great post.
