Halloween!

Yet another Halloween has come and gone, and when it was all said and done, my kids had over nine pounds of candy, which is absolutely ludicrous when you think that there are starving people all over the world. It is really to bad that there is no way to exchange some of the candy for canned food, and then donate it your local food bank.
The kids had a really good time this year, with Katie being a witch...

...and Eric and his friend, Michael, going as the Men In Black. They watched that movie about one month ago, and decided that they wanted to trick-or-treat together, so Michael's mom bought them matching suits and his dad helped them make their alien blasting guns. This is the back of one of Michael's little cousins. She is just a tiny little thing (18 months old), and I just wanted to scoop her up and take her home! How come I didn't think that mine were that cute when they were that little? Probably because I was too tired and stressed out to enjoy them...lol!!!Hope that you all had great weekends!

Wonderful costumes! Glad everyone had a good time. My sister freezes candy and it does well.

Great pictures, glad the kids had fun. That is a lot of candy! Thanks for the info on the horse picture I'm going to look it up and see if they have it on the internet somewhere.

Oh wow! Katie makes a lovely witch and those MIB costumes are the Bomb!

And that little fairy is such a sweetie!
What wonderful costumes. I flaked out on Halloween this year and told my kids we were recycling costumes instead. No store bought or newly made....only items from Halloweens past. lol!

Jax and Jem were Cowboys and Jen was a kitty. :)

I'm glad you all had a great time.
I never thought to weigh our candy. I'd probably be too shocked. lol!

Way cool costumes! The MIB are really super cool and the Witch costume is so pretty (I know they are supposed to be scary but with your girl dressed up as one, she could only be pretty).

And you're so right the fairy is too cute to put into word. I was an angle for my first Halloween, but I was not nearly that cute.

PS - It's really neat to be able to trade comments back and forth with someone who comes from a hunting family too!!

Very cute!

I actually saw a freestyle reining run where the lady dressed up her and her horse in the Men In Black style suits. The horse had black fabric going down his legs and a white collar and tie around his neck as well as sun glasses over his eyes! It was really well done and funny to watch.

I love the boys alien blasters! they look like they could get the job done!

I love the Men in Black costumes! Those are too cute!! And your witch is beautiful!!

And 18 months old is a fun time. It's one of my favorites. They are just too sweet at that age. Right before they turn into devils!! LOL

Hey, Cousin!
Here i am! Do you have any idea how long a week can be without internet? Pretty dang long, i can tell you, but i am back.
I am enjoying catching up on all the blogs, but i was distressed to see that you have been ill. Bouncing back, i hope?!
I am relieved to see evidence of men in black protecting us from evil aliens. I have been concerned about that. Darn cute kids.

And TAG - you are it!

I've been tagged by Leah Frye over at Barn Door Tagz to play "Book Tag."

Here are the rules:

1)Grab the nearest book.
2)Open the book to page 56.
3)Find the fifth sentence.
4)Post the text of the next two to five sentences.
5)Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one.
Pick the Closest.
6)Tag five people to do the same.

Got anything besides textbooks?
