I think that Bo was pretty happy to see Eric today. What do you think? It was supposed to rain today, and we had made plans to ride at the arena. The rain held off, but we went to the arena anyway, because Bo just had his shoes pulled. We are going to use EasyBoots on him, as he only ever needs front shoes. Amber has been using them on Waska, and likes them a lot, so I will let you guys know how they turn out for Bo.
Eric is the perfect size for Bo. I can only imagine what I must look like on him...lol!!!!
Do you see the big, gray horse that is watching us through the gate? He is a giant Warmblood gelding, who stands 17 hands high. I was drooling over him when the barn owner came out and said that his owner just put him up for sale...I didn't even ask the price...huh-uh...not going there...lol!!!
Miss Katie was riding Sienna today, and they worked on trotting. Remember Sienna is a cart pony, so squeezing/kicking her sides mean nothing to her. She goes by voice commands, and clicking/smooching sounds, so we are working on teaching her about moving off of pressure. Bo looks a little conceited in this picture...like he is dismissing Sienna with a flick of his tail. Snooty Arab!!!Waska looked breathtaking today (or at least I thought he did!) so I took some shots of him trotting and cantering. He has come so far, and I am so proud of Amber!
Handsome!!! While we were untacking the big horses, Katie took Sienna, or tried to take Sienna, through the trail course, but all Sienna could think about was gobbling down as much grass as she possibly could before Katie got her head up..lol!!!We let Eric load Bo today (Amber was waiting on the inside of the trailer), and I noticed in this picture that we need to paint the inside of our trailer! We have had it for 14 years now, so I guess it is time!!!Sorry that this post is kind of spacey and random, but I have been typing one of my papers all evening and I needed a break! My mind feels kind of fried right now. Where is Saddle Mtn. Rider when I need her...lol???!!!

I have a tag that I have to work on from Miss Lisa as well, so I will try to get that done tomorrow or Sunday. Have a good weekend everybody!!!

What a wonderful day! It is also amazing that all your children love to ride. Sometimes, there is an odd man out. Glad you and your family had some enjoyable family time.
That's great to see all the kids horsing around! Bo reminds me of my Nadia. Waska looks super! Katie and Sienna are so cute!
Also, I had to tell ya that I like your photo at the top of the page. Where is it from? I took a photo of my half Arabian mare, Shahreen, and my Great Dane, Max, many years ago, that looks very much like that. She's standing very similar, fully tacked out, in an english saddle and bridle, too. I'll have to dig it out. It's one of my favorite photos.
Look at how happy Bo is! What a grand old man he is Melanie. LOVE the little pony too! hehe
Have an awesome weekend woman!
HI Mellie!
Glad for Firday for you...thought all week to it knowing you'd be riding..I know this was fun too though.
Glad for the kids riding.Bo does look very content w Eric. I had to chuckle too, seeing hoiw he loves hi Camo-jacket!Waska and Amber do look nice!
Yea..trailer maintinence...I have been doing such as well...but having it as my tack room..the stuff pile is enormous right now..OUTSIDE the trailer as I had the floorboards checked a day ago and the lights and all general maintinece done....Now, at least, as I put things back..I will know where everything is!
Glad you took the break and showed us what's up!
Oh it sounds like you need a vacation too? I will as soon as Vegas is over. Whew! Great photos of the girls, beautiful. That pony cracks me up. Soo cute with your little girl!
Oh Melanie, your horses are all so very beautiful! As are you and your kiddos. This is a wonderful post full of the good things in life - horses, kids and family-time! Enjoy and don't forget to squeeze in some of that precious downtime for yourself, my hardworking little momma. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. Love to all, Lorie
Gail-I am glad that everyone likes horses too! Let's hope it stays that way.
Val-I left you a response on your blog!
Everyone Else-Glad you enjoy viewing a little bit of our lives!Blogging is fun, isn't it???!!
The kidlets look like they're having a great time.
Ponies can get their head in the grass so quick! Not far to go, 'natch...
Your kids look like fine riders, having too much fun on their horses! Glad you got away from the papers long enough for some R&R
What a good momma you are!! Of course, it is so enjoyable having kids that love the horse thing too, that it's not hard to enjoy having them around.
They grow up really fast though...you gotta watch out for that.;)
Oh what a really fun day!! I love getting in some arena time. The kids all looked really great!
You are such a good mom to give up your riding time to let the kids have some fun. It seems like that is all I do now a days too. :)
And how tempting to look at a 17 hand warmblood!! Tempting yes in deed!! I love those big warmbloods.
Ahhh...
They look so cute! You are a good mom!
I am so unhealthy right now the thought of a huge warmblood makes me cringe but under normal circumstances I would be right there with you drooling over it and the thought of sailing over fences as if they were nothing!
Waska looks incredibly gorgeous! And I was just going to say the same thing that Val said, to. He reminds me of her Arabian Nadia. He has soft kind eyes like she does and a fuzzy cute compact body, too.
And I love that grand flick of his tail. lol!
I adore your BoBo! And I bet you don't look silly on him at all.
But your kids do look great on the horses, I must admit. Katie and Sienna are too precious for words.
I've really got to get my Jenna a pony her size. She refuses to ride Baby Doll, or any horse over 14hh.
I would love it if all my kids had the 'horse bug' like yours do!
Just like you, I wouldn't mind giving up some of my riding time to see the joy in their faces and hear the laughter in their voices.
That warmblood is beautiful! The one photo where he is eyeing Sienna is so funny. It's as if he's saying, "Is that a horse?" "Can't be. I'M a REAL horse you know! Hmmmpf!" lol!
Glad to hear you're doing ok, though, and that you've been able to dig a little hole out from under all the papers and school work. :)

Spacey and random? I could write the book on that this week.
Have I thanked you lately for following my blog? It may seem like I've got a funny way of showing it, changing my blog address the day before my first giveaway and screwing up everybody's links. What an idiot I can be...Anyway, if you haven't had a chance to enter the giveaway because you can't find it, try the old address, http://the7msn.blogspot.com , and be sure to enter. Blogger assures me the pointers will be going in the right direction soon.
Your kids and equines always look so happy together! :-)Love the pic of Katie and Sienna- I can relate to throwing your body into pulling a horse head up from grass!:-x
