Back and Forth....

Hola!!! Nice helmet shot, eh??? Not to totally start off "off topic" but when my hubby saw this picture he said "...Oh, you are still wearing that thing??? I figured that you were just saying that you did..."

Huh??? He was the one who said I had to wear a helmet and be responsible (his words, not
mine) now that I had children. So...even though I know it is a good idea to wear one, I didn't for over 25 years and it really makes my head sweaty and itchy on warm days. In the future, maybe I won't wear it all of the time.....
Okay, back on topic...here we go.....
I really like my new job so far. I have only gone to a two day orientation, but I will actually start out on the floor this Friday. My only problem is I do not have many nice clothes, so I am going to have to go shopping. Which will probably be kind of fun because all of the new fall styles are out and I have nothing...lol!!As previously mentioned, Amber and I have been putting the miles on the ponies lately and it has been wonderful. Seeing that bear cub was amazing, and we pretty much see wildlife every ride now, which is kind of strange 'cause we are used to just seeing their tracks.
In the picture below (which was taken in an area that is undergoing tree thinning vs. deforestation) we saw an elk herd that was being led by a big bull. We chased them for a bit, but by the time I had my camera out, they were gone.As you can see from the picture below, we have been taking Miss Sienna out with us, as it gives her something to look forward to and some exercise as well. She does a great job of keeping up with the big boys too!Well, that's it for now. I have to head out shopping and clean my house up a bit. Eric's birthday party is on Saturday (his birthday is Friday) and I have a lot of people coming over to help celebrate. Hope all of you are having a great week so far... : )

New clothes, lots of riding, new job, new people to meet and socialize with, a birthday party to plan, elk to chase, bears to avoid... Wow! You are one busy lady out having adventures galore!

Have fun and Happy Birthday to Eric!

Helmets are always a good idea. I should wear mine more but I don't for the same reasons you stated. Living with someone with brain trauma, you'd think I'd know better.

Getting new clothes sounds like fun but the shopping part doesn't. I am just not a shopper, well, unless it's for horses. I can do that. LOL

Good luck with your quest and on the new job.

Law school huh, you know it's never to late if you're so inclined. I know there's a shortage of equine lawyers.

I rode in my helmet (like a good girl) today too! We're winners together! lol

If you feel like a drive you could always try out the Seattle Premium Outlet mall... they have some sweet deals... but maybe not sweet enough for the drive.

Glad you are getting out and hope you have fun shopping:!

That is great you like your job so far!! Very exciting. Shopping sounds like so much fun, I don't do too much of that anymore now that I work in a barn. But I really need some new winter clothes for work, and if you ever do happen to follow Chelsi's advice and go to the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall, let me know, I'll meet ya there and we can shop!

You really look great in your helmet! It would look better still oif it were pushed down in front a bit to cover your frontal lobes!

Sounds like you have been having so much fun!!! Good girl - you deserve it after all that school and homework! Awesome trail - that's the kind I need to stick to, fairly wide, land on both sides and not too steep...perfect!! Awesome that you got to see a bear and elk...fun!! Love your smile - you look sooo happy! Have fun with the new job and the new people and shopping!!! Very cool!! Wish I could say I was down 16 pounds...congratulations!!

I always wear my helmet and have never had any issues with feeling hot or itchy. Maybe it's the helmet? Or color? My helmet is white and deflects sunlight. Mine is a Universal and is so comfie that I often forget I'm even wearing it. I've even went into the house with it still on my head and didn't even realize it. lol!

I love how you take the pony out with you on rides. I bet she does really enjoy it.
I haven't ridden for over a month now. I think Apache is itching to get out and explore.
She's still mysteriously off on her front shoulder, though.

How nice to be able to go trail riding & see wildlife. One day, perhaps....

My vote is FOR the helmet. Take it from me (not literally, I need mine *grin*) a helmet sounds pretty darned good when you get tossed off your horse and see the ground coming up fast. Don't let your husband bug you. Wear the helmet.

Okay...lecture over. Carry on.
