This first picture, is the one of him from three weeks ago, and the second one is Bo today. HUGE difference. He now looks like fat, old and happy horse, not a skinny, old and hungry one!

Eric looks rather bandit-ish here. Hmmm...I wonder what I caught him doing, or at least thinking about doing? It was really hot out, and Eric was really warm in his Wranglers and cowboy shirt. Maybe he was going to swipe that poor boys juice? He definitely looks guilty of something!
Katie danced with everybody. Here she is dancing with Eric's teacher for the past two years (split class). She is the lovely lady in red, and will most likely be Katie's teacher for first and second grade too.
Katie smiling as she accepts her book and walks down the kindergarten graduation line.
Once we were done with school for the day, we had to take Katie to her coach-pitch game. She looks kind of girly in this picture, don't you think? "Ew! I cannot believe that I am standing out here in the dirt. This is so disgusting! I might break a nail!"
Here she is right after the ball whizzed over her head, and we were all yelling at her to go get it. Doesn't she look a bit dazed and confused? I am NOT claiming that look...it must come from her dad (lol).
If you click on this picture and enlarge it, you will see that Katie even smiles while she is swinging her bat. She is trying to charm the pitcher. Good girl!!
Today was the last day of school for the rest of the kids, and it was only a 1/2 day, so some of us mothers got together and took the kids to Saltwater State Park, for lunch and a little bit of fun in the sun. We got to see an amazing sight while there as well. Some of you may have seen, on the news, that there is a Humpback whale that is hanging out in the sound. Biologists are not sure if it is lost, or if it is just hanging out eating lots of yummy whale food! Well...a big boat went by, and as we were looking out at it, a GIANT whale leaped out of the water. It was the Humpback whale! It put on quite the show for us, and we got to watch it for about 15-20 minutes. Definitely the highlight of our day!
Sorry...another picture of the ever-smiling Katie!
The boys were digging for clams and who knows what else! They had a great time.
Here is yet another baseball picture of my favorite pitcher!
Yesterday also happened to be field day at the kid's school. I went and had lunch--well I ate lunch BEFORE going to their school...have you SEEN what they feed kids at school???--and then I helped Eric's teacher hand out Otter Pops for two hours. Fun. Amy went around and took pictures of my kids at the various stations. Eric and Katie happened to be on the same team, so it was easy for her to get them both at the same time. Notice Eric in the background. He was thinking "I ain't gonna do that with a girl! Gross!"
Here's daddy out on the edge of the dock. Cuckoo and I always give poor Kev a hard time, because he is the only Norwegian that we know, who does not like fish, and also happens to get seasick! Quite a rough-looking bunch of kids, and this is only half of them! Oh wait. I see Katie smiling.
Did I mention that we did not bring swimsuits? This was supposed to be a "fishing" trip, but the kids all ended up in the water anyway! Here is Eric and one of the other kids playing on an old log that they found near the shore.
Katie had decided that she was wet enough, and in true Katie fashion, came simpering up to the shore.
So, even though nobody really caught any fish, we all had a good time!

Here are my kids, using all of their "proper" grooming advice that they have been given. You know, how they should always be down on their knees when working with horses, or better yet, crawling on the ground with them!! At least they are both on the same side!
Here is Waska Woo Woo feeling quite left out, because we had not yet gotten him out yet.
Here is Jibby, I mean Katie, with her usual smile, as we were just heading out for a trail ride. Can I call it a trail ride if Amber and I were walking and jogging alongside and behind the kidlets?
Cheyenne rode Waska Woo Woo. I was supposed to ride him, but remember, I was being selfless. Bo Bo was right on his heels.
Sienna was looking kind of tired already, but not Katie. She is always up for a big smile.
Waska forgot that he was not supposed to stop and eat on the trail. Doesn't he have that "deer in the headlights" look? "I wasn't doing nuthin!!! Just meandering down the trail."
Speaking of meandering. I better catch up to the rest of the herd!

Until next time....Happy trails to you!
Eric pitched two innings during the game last night. Looking at this picture gives me that proud, chest swelling, almost teary-eyed feeling that us moms get when we look at our children and think "They got some of that from me," and "Look at how big he/she is getting." Ok, Ok...I know that most of his baseball talent comes from his proud daddy, but he does have half of my DNA too!!
Just after the release. Sniffle.
Besides occasionally pitching, Eric plays short stop, third base, and outfield, although lately he has been kept on the infield only. That's because he has my cat-like, lightening-fast reflexes! Ok, so maybe he got those from his dad too. Anyway...Katie has a game tomorrow, as she has just started playing coach-pitch, so I will have to have someone take some pictures of her too.
These are my pathetic tomato plants. Usually by now they are much larger. Once September comes, I send the kids around with bucketfuls of tomatoes, and tell them to give them away to all of the neighbors. I HOPE that they have not been stunted by the freezing weather...it has been in the low 40's at night. I will keep you all posted on their progress!
